Case Study: Electronic Checklists

Practec is a privately owned company which was set up by Stephen Davies in 1997. Whilst the company has a focus on interior fit outs and light commercial construction, the company also runs one or two high end residential builds at any one time.
Currently Practec are working for both Auckland, Waitemata and Counties District Health Boards, teaching institutions and a select range of architects and private clients. The projects are often tendered, although we have a niche group of returning clients.
Prior to GS electronic checklists, all information required to be sent to the accountant for year-end financials was a very onerous job. All paperwork was copied, software data written to CD and then packaged up and couriered. Now, I scan any relevant documentation needed to support my checklist filing and it’s all kept together, where it stays and is attached to the relevant question on the checklist. Data backups are also easily attached and bam it is done! Completed in no time at all.
Gilligan Sheppard have been on call for anything from data entry questions in the checklist through to providing advice on our company structure. The checklist system is extremely user friendly and the staff are very patient with us if we do have any queries.
