Tax Updates: 20 May 2024
Welcome to this week’s review of tax issues where Richard comments on what’s been happening in the world of tax over the past week. If you have a question or would like a second opinion on any national or international tax issues, please contact Richard via email at [email protected].
TCO Public Guidance Programme
Inland Revenue (IR)’s Tax Council Office (TCO) regularly publishes its work programme, so you are aware of the tax issues that are presently under consideration, what documentation has been issued for public consultation, and what issues TCO will be commencing work on over the next few months.
Presently, the TCO is looking for suggestions for the 2024-25 Public Guidance Work Programme – what tax technical or interpretative issues may be top of mind for you, and where you would like to gain an appreciation of IR’s view on the same issue.
If you would like to make a suggestion, you can either:
- Send an email to [email protected], including a short description of the issue and why it should be considered important (legislation, section references, case names, etc, are helpful).
- Complete the 2024–25 Public Guidance Work Programme suggestion form on IR’s Tax Technical website.
Your suggestion must be received by IR during the period May 16 to June 7, 2024.
