Cabaret Christmas Party

We gathered at the office for some pre-outing drinks. There was quite a bit of speculation as to what it was that we were getting up to this evening – it had been kept under wraps.
We also had two dutch tourists along for the ride. The office manager met them in Rarotonga and offered them a place to stay if they were ever in New Zealand. They flew in this very day so they were invited to come out with us.
We piled into three shuttle vans and arrived at a venue on K Road. We walked up the stairs and we were greeted by a very tall, glamourous woman – her name… Tess Tickle. We were shown to our tables and took in our surroundings, a mixture of darkness and sparkles.
The first act to take the stage sung fabulously, so well in fact, it was hard to believe it was live – he wasn’t lip synching, it was real and it was phenomenal.
A fabulous drinks list got the party started, even the mocktails were delicious! We were directed to a fabulous buffet for dinner; a variety of breads, seven different salads (one of the dutch tourists found it odd to have crispy noodles in a salad), seafood, scalloped potatoes, succulent steak, Christmas ham – the plates just weren’t big enough!
More of the show continued with a talented line up of singers and dancers. The entertainment was top notch. The audience got involved in a catwalk and our Geoffrey stole the spotlight – the best catwalk strut without removing clothes!
Dessert was up and it was another stunning array of delicacies; pavolova, chocolate roll, trifle, fruit salad, ambrosia (the other dutch tourist thought this dessert was heaven)… A new definition of the word full was created.
A girl dressed in everything sparkly performed on a hoop hanging from the ceiling to another song sung live from a man who could belt it out. The cabaret show continued to enthral. And when it all finished we danced the night away.
A fantastic night out with many memories created we’re sure.
