Are we different or are we mad?

It has been a long time coming, but finally every partner in our firm is a bike rider. And I don’t mean motor bike riders. I guess that makes us the only CA firm in NZ (excluding sole traders) that has all four of its partners riding bikes, three of which ride now to or from work each day.
The first was myself, motivated by simply saving the exorbitant parking fees, and also obesity. That was 20 years ago. Buckland’s Beach to town. A bit of a hike.
The next was Richard, although he pikes out of commute cycling, he instead does competitive road cycling, your classic MAMIL (middle aged man in lycra). He would dispute that he is middle aged.
Then came Yi Ping. She cycles from Kohimarama to town and back almost every day, and a very dashing figure she is too in Lycra.
For years Greg joked that he should take life assurance out on all three of us, as he considered that we had death wishes. Finally he too has found the joy of being car free and he cycles to town each day from Mission Bay.
Let all road users live together peacefully and safely.
Bruce Sheppard.
