Amy Street

BBus, CA
Chief Operating Officer
Partner responsible for Business Advisory Services (BAS)
Accountant

Amy Street has over fifteen years’ experience in accounting including business advisory, management accounting, business development, tax planning and compliance. In addition, Amy provides support with IRD audits and client systems.

Amy originally studied marketing and tourism at university. After a few years working in marketing Amy decided to go back to university and do her accounting qualification. Going back to university was an older student was certainly a different experience than the first time around but invaluable as well. When Amy graduated she had to start at the bottom with the other graduates but believes that her maturity helped her land a good graduate/intermediate role at a reputable firm that provided her with a great foundation.

Amy came to Gilligan Sheppard in 2015 and has been part of the team ever since. Solving problems and supporting clients to get the best from their business in the current economic environment is where Amy Street finds enjoyment.

Amy strives to develop close bonds with her clients and being a part of their business is very important to her. Being part of their business is essential to helping clients so that Amy can truly understand the structure of the business, the culture and the vision of the business. Through understanding how a business operates and why Amy can provide the best possible service to the client and be a sounding board for any problems that may crop up.

Outside of work Amy is a Mum of two children – a 8 year old boy and a 11 year old girl. She is also a sister to her younger brother who lives in Cambridge and an aunt to her three nieces and nephews who she adores. Her children keep her very busy when she is not working and she spends a lot of time running between activities and play dates and organising her children’s social lives!

When Amy is not running about with her kids she can be found either going for a walk around Hobsonville Point, running, reading or hanging out with friends.

Amy has had a life changing year in 2019 with the most recent (and hopefully last) event being the diagnosis of a melanoma on her face.  This was quickly remedied but it did remind Amy to be grateful for her life and what she has and to be more sun smart!
