Jacob Fincher

Jacob is the first fresh face that welcomes you at the Gilligan Sheppard desk. It was after an impulsive journey to Auckland searching for new opportunities,  when he found GS. Prior to joining the corporate world, Jacob explored a variety of interesting roles. After school he completed a certificate in hairdressing, which set the foundation for his excellent customer service journey. Three years later he decided to just use his hair cutting skills on friends and try something new. Jacob then started painting houses, worked in hospitality, retail, and even became an AV technician. Jacob is enthusiastic about learning new things! So, it didn’t stop there. He developed a keen interest in physics, biomedical science, phycology, exercise science, computer science and finance, and currently – accounting and commercial law. Jacob loves making clients happy, and does so through his humble nature, extensive knowledge, and good people skills.

Jacob loves the atmosphere at GS, and how “you can tell that they actually give a s**t about the people, not just the numbers”.

Outside of the office, Jacob spends a lot of time tapping into his creative side with photography, particularly landscape and portraits – so exploring different locations around NZ is something he’d like to do more of. When the cameras put down, the books are picked up – most likely something written by his favourite author, Stephen King.

Jacob is very family oriented, which means regular visits to Welly (with many stops along the way – camera in hand).
