Originally from Timaru, Kurt is a huge supporter of the Crusaders (and by the way, he doesn’t think they should change their name).
Kurt has been an accountant for over six years working with a number of different clients including farms, businesses and companies. He rather enjoys understanding things from the clients’ perspective. His biggest piece of advice to them is not to be scared to try new things.
“Sometimes we just get set in our ways, but when opportunities arise, it’s often best to just give it a go.”
After living in Christchurch for the majority of his adult life, Kurt was ready for a change. Taking his own advice, he gladly accepted the opportunity to work with a very different accounting firm.
“I enjoy the fact that it’s about keeping your client happy and you’re allowed to work your work around life.”
Upon arrival at GS, the first thing he noticed was the very non-stereotypical accounting setting. Instead of the standard head-down from eight to five with little chatter, here he feels he can be himself, accepted and have fun whilst getting the job done.
Kurt has an interest in rugby, football (is a Chelsea supporter), basketball, formula one and he and his family have a few horses which they race and breed. He also enjoys computers and has built his own from scratch.
