Shama was born and brought up in the Northern part of India. She completed her Master of Commerce from Punjabi University and in 2018, Shama moved to New Zealand and pursued her career in accounting. She completed a Diploma in Accounting from Manukau Institute of Technology and soon after that joined an accounting firm based in Manukau. Shama’s professional journey started with this firm, where she dealt with preparing annual accounts & management accounts, filing PAYE and GST for various clients. Accounting had always been her favourite subject since her school days, and she was very clear about pursuing her career in this field. Shama is grateful to have joined Gilligan Sheppard as it provides her ample opportunity to further excel in her career in accounting and gives her a chance to work in a friendly environment. She loves dealing with clients and building strong networking and professional relationships with various clients by sharing and gaining knowledge.

Outside of work, Shama loves to spend time with her family. They go out together on weekends to explore the beauty of New Zealand. She found river rafting in Rotorua to be an amazing experience. Honesty and kindness are personal values that Shama respects deeply. On the professional front, she believes that integrity, honesty, and ethics matter most. With these values, Shama looks forward to achieving great things personally and professionally in life. She would like to see herself grow and achieve a leap in her accounting career. Handling multiple accounts and clients has been her greatest achievement and Shama looks forward to conquering all the challenges ahead in her journey with Gilligan Sheppard.
