Bill Bain

University of British Columbia - Sales & Marketing Management Dip
Leadership Coach
Business Improvement

Following a long and distinguished leadership career, Bill Bain is now using his skills to help organisations, people, and teams to significantly improve their performance through business alignment, leadership coaching and team development.

Bill credits a lot of his success to being part of or leading top teams and as an accredited Team Alchemy coach, he thrives on transforming an ordinary group of people to becoming a high performing team.

His experience as a successful business executive means that he can advise in the areas of General Management, Sales and Marketing Management, Channel and Account Management, Project and Change Management.

Bill can quickly engage with a broad range of people. His personable nature and authenticity means that he can quickly connect and get alongside people to take them on their improvement journey. Bill takes a holistic view across the key aspects of a business operation. He challenges peoples thinking, and has a way of making your strengths work for you more effectively, and for you to be able to identify your weaknesses – especially those that are critical to your role and your progression. Bill believes in a customer-centric approach to business where success comes through combining quality products or services with outstanding delivery through engaged, energised and committed people.

Bill is originally from Canada, a very progressive, diverse and multicultural country. In some ways, just like New Zealand. In 1987, Bill came to New Zealand for a Rugby Tour, where he fell in love with the country. He quickly made the decision to move to New Zealand just one year later.

Outside of the office, Bill spends a lot of his spare time amongst the great outdoors – walking, trekking, running and playing golf. Sky diving and Bungy jumping being some of his favorite experiences, along with his epic Warbird Aerobatic flight adventure and trekking Machu Pichu in his late 50’s! Aside from the adrenaline pumping activities, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, two children whom he has had much pleasure in raising and his two grandsons.

Bill applies his passion to help others grow and reach their dreams, in every aspect of his life. He has helped many people throughout his journey, and not just in business. An example of one of Bill’s rewarding grants, was when he took a student leader from Manurewa High School to see Simon Sinek speak live. This had a significant impact on the students journey to growth and success and again reminded Bill of why he ‘does’ what he ‘does’.
