Teresa Ferabend is the first friendly face that greets you at the front desk when you visit. She is also the voice behind the phone with her friendly manner when you call.
Born and bred in New Zealand, Teresa left at a young age to live in different countries. She was able to experience different cultures with her family. Australia was the first experience, living in both Brisbane and Sydney. Then off to Thailand as a teenager – which has the best weather and is nice and tropical. As an au pair, Teresa experienced six months living with a family in Italy looking after four children. She was able to do short trips on weekends and visit other countries. Enjoying the culture, architecture and food, she says the best thing about Italy is the gelato. Very different from what’s on offer here in NZ.
A big fan of the GS easy-going environment, Teresa is never bored. There’s always something to do or someone who needs some urgent help. Teresa said one of the first things she did was to check out our website – she loved looking at all the interesting profiles and it made her want to work here even more!
Teresa Ferabend is also known as ‘Tess’ and knows how to make a good coffee – she has hospitality experience and has worked in cafes – a bonus for us and our visiting clients.
Her role is varied but can be summed up by make sure visiting clients and her team mates are looked after. Good communication is essential in her role, along with getting jobs done!
Ask her what her pet-peeve is and it has nothing to do with admin or organisation, its pure manners. When you’re sitting in traffic and someone lets you in to a line of cars, it’s polite to say thank you with a wave or nod of the head.
